The Unthinkable - a word of Warning and Hope!

I recently came across this sermon by Elder Aaron Smith. It was originally given at the communion service, on August 5, 2018, at Oak Grove Restoration Branch. I'm not sure how I missed hearing this the first time, or if I had heard it for some reason it was wiped from my memory. What I do know is that I found it noted as a word of warning and I knew I had to hear it. Brother Aaron was kind enough to help me find the sermon online and I listened this morning.

This may have been given in 2018- but the message is still imperative today. The Holy Spirit is very present and the message God gives is truly one of warning. However, it's also very much one of HOPE! That hope lies in our Savior, Jesus Christ, and our decision to choose Him over everything else, but the important thing to note is it's OUR CHOICE.

This call to Wake Up has been getting stronger every year. Have you taken the time to hear it? Have you shared it with others?

Time to Set Aside our Pride...

Elder Aaron Smith shared a great message via email today. A message we ALL need to hear and take to heart. It's part of the call God has been reiterating for months now. It's time to WAKE UP and get ready for Jesus' return. That means humbling ourselves and accepting the call to serve with all we have. Here, Brother Aaron, along with the words of Brother Arthur Oakman, shows us how we can do that.

The Best Days of the Church are still ahead - Don't let them pass by

Elder Karl Anderson
Elder Karl Anderson gave a powerful sermon Sunday night at the CMRB Reunion with a wonderful message from God. The best days of the church are still ahead - don't let them pass you by.

With a pulpit pounding wake up call, brother Anderson calls us to awareness of our sins, our adulterous nature as a church, and yet gives us hope that with repentance we still have so much to look forward to. Don't miss out on what God is sharing with us here.

Recognizing TRUTH

Elder David Burkart
Elder David Burkart gave a powerful and moving sermon Sunday evening as part of the summer series. His message centered around knowing and hearing God. Part of that core message also presented how Isaiah prophesied that in these end days truth would be published as lies and lies would be pushed as truth. Elder Burkart followed this with many current event examples that prove just how we are living this prophecy. The call to wake up and see if we are recognizing Truth when it is presented or if we are falling for the lies is a message we all need to examine. It might not be an easy message for some to hear, but when we are being shaken by God in an effort to wake us from our everyday sleep, we may find that to be uncomfortable. I hope all listen with an open heart and mind, praying for the Holy Spirit to witness to the truth of God's message for us today.

God bless!

Awake, Arise and Come - sermon by Elder Brian Mundy

Elder Brian Mundy
The call to Wake UP culminated in the final sermon during the 2020 Elders Conference and In-Town Reunion. Elder Brian Mundy preached Friday evening and WOW! God is so good to speak to us so directly.

2020 Restoration Branch Family Reunion & Elders Conference Recordings of Services and Classes for the Week

Time of the Gentiles & The People of Zion by Elder Benji Pedersen

We've had a fantastic range of classes in the last few months at several different congregations. Elder Benji Pedersen actually did 2 classes/series. They do correspond with each other, so I recommend watching them in order, but it's not mandatory. These are so exciting and, I believe, very much directed by the Holy Spirit. Not only is God calling us to wake up - He's now showing us in very specific steps HOW we need to prepare for His return.

I shared these playlists on my Facebook account, but want to share them again here for ease of sharing.

Pat Chadwick's class at Oak Grove Restoration Branch

Oak Grove Restoration Branch
The call to WAKE UP and RISE UP is only getting stronger. There have been so many classes and sermons lately, I'm sure I will miss many important links, but please, brothers and sisters, take the time to listen and respond to the call.

I shared this on my Facebook page, but want to include the links here so they are easier to find and share.

Pat Chadwick's class at Oak Grove RB is finished and for those of you who still haven't had a chance to watch it, I encourage you to do that now. It was fantastic and truly inspired by God. The classes were broadcast on Livestream and unfortunately, that format doesn't allow us to create playlists like youtube, however, I did create a list of links to each class in order of broadcast. Feel free to share these links and be sure to watch them yourself as well. God bless!

Endowment For Witnessing by Patriarch Roy Cheville

Patriarch Roy Cheville

Patriarch Roy Cheville speaks on the endowment. Plain spoken and enlightening. Are we seeking for the endowment with the right intentions? Are we seeking in the right way? A message worth sharing and contemplating.
Endowment For Witnessing [Audio Sermon], n.d. (mp3)48 minute sermon. Brother Cheville discusses the great commission and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. He also relates several experiences where he was spoken to in tongues about his ministry and how he was converted to the gospel through endowed witnessing.

The Endowment

Evangelist Arthur Oakman
Endowment Lecture 1-Our Spiritual Universe [Audio Sermon], 1966 (mp3)First in a series of six lectures given to the Melchisedec Priesthood at the RLDS Stone Church in Independence, Missouri, USA from October 3 to 13, 1966. Brother Oakman states, "Brethren, there is anouter, external world which is designed to minister the life of God to us. And there is also an invisible, interior, inner world, and it is this invisible interior world, the world that is within us, with which we haveto do, so terribly important. And, all of the apparatus known to us as the universe, the whole flux of thingscreated, the presence of our fellow men, our heritage, history, all things, are designed that we may take them inside us. And that there may be created in us, in each one of us a universe of discourse, which shall be truly in harmony with the Spirit, and the mind, and the will of our Heavenly Father." A transcript is available HERE.
Endowment Lecture 2-A Spiritual View Of History [Audio Sermon], 1966 (mp3)Second in a series of six lectures given to the Melchisedec Priesthood at the RLDS Stone Church in Independence, Missouri, USA from October 3 to 13, 1966. Brother Oakman states, "The universe is created by God and in its midst are creatures that he has created out of his love because he is love. God doesn't love us because we are lovable, he loves us because he is love; it's his nature to do this. And gentlemen, nothing you and I can ever do can make God stop loving us, and caring for us, and spending himself for us, and becoming involved with us. In everything man does the Eternal is committed. There have been some who have thought that God is unconcerned about humanity, that he is not involved in human history. Then what do we do? We point to Calvary. We say yes we know that human history is cruel; we know that it devours its children. We know that the story of mankind is fraught with terrible things, but to say that God is aloof is not true. For he himself in the person of his Son has entered into the course of time, and has taken in his own body the sins of men, and put them on a tree, and made those sins shine with the love of God." A transcript is available HERE.
Endowment Lecture 3-The Holy Spirit And The Church [Audio Sermon], 1966 (mp3)Third in a series of six lectures given to the Melchisedec Priesthood at the RLDS Stone Church in Independence, Missouri, USA from October 3 to 13, 1966. Brother Oakman states, "In a discussion of the Holy Spirit why is it that we began with the story of creation? The answer to that question is the fact that the creation itself reflects the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Creation itself is an actualization of the Holy Spirit. And the universe is a framework so to speak, in which the Holy Spirit or God through the Spirit, is eminent. You remember the other night we talked about the scaffolding that was put round a building? This is an analogy by which we can view the universe as the scaffolding through which our Heavenly Father ministers his life to us. And the important thing for us to remember is that there is the universe that is around us and the universe that is within us. We stand between the two, and take the universe that is around us and put it within us. And as we do this as much of the life of God as is in the universe which we describe through the spirit of truth is given to us." A transcript is available HERE.
Endowment Lecture 4-Gifts Of The Spirit [Audio Sermon], 1966 (mp3)Fourth in a series of six lectures given to the Melchisedec Priesthood at the RLDS Stone Church in Independence, Missouri, USA from October 3 to 13, 1966. Brother Oakman states, "…we discussed the church and we tried to make it quite clear, that this was either 'a church,' or it was 'the church.' If it is simply 'a church,' I cannot see any reason for our existence. But if it is 'the church,' then it means that we have a unique, distinct position. The Protestant world as a whole as far as its theologians are concerned have no clear cut conception of the church. They have different varying definitions of it, but for us there should be no doubt. The Church of Jesus Christ is the body of Christ; that body of people who are brought together by the gift of his Spirit, and who share in the community of the Spirit by reason of their rebirth." A transcript is available HERE.
Endowment Lecture 5-Angelic Ministry [Audio Sermon], 1966 (mp3)Fifth in a series of six lectures given to the Melchisedec Priesthood at the RLDS Stone Church in Independence, Missouri, USA from October 3 to 13, 1966. Brother Oakman states, "You know this Church was conceived in the ministry of angels. It was not brought forth by human instrumentality except as Joseph Smith and those who were around him responded to the ministry of those that were from above. It was Moroni, it was Peter, James and John; it was John the Baptist who appeared to him. It was from these brethren that Joseph received his call and ordination to the Priesthood and under the continual guidance of those which were from above the Church moved in the discharge of its responsibility. Brethren, never let us forget that for the hope of the Kingdom does not rest below here with men on the earth outside of the Church, it rest with men that are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God." A transcript is available HERE.
Endowment Lecture 6-Spiritual Endowment [Audio Sermon], 1966 (mp3)Sixth in a series of six lectures given to the Melchisedec Priesthood at the RLDS Stone Church in Independence, Missouri, USA from October 3 to 13, 1966. Brother Oakman states, "Charity preventeth a multitude of sins. And if there was ever a day in the history of the world when men needed someone else to stand in their lives and go before them to warn them, to guide them and direct them; that is today. The adversary of souls has always been on the alert, but in the language of the Apocalypse he rages today in the hearts of men knowing he has a short time. I commend to you the spirit and the principle of sacrifice; the discovery of yourself in the act of ministry to other people. It is not that this church is an organization of people banded together to finish or find or realize some ideal. That's not our calling. We are members one of another. This is an organism, a living body, so definitively wrought together as to be inseparable. And we've very often lost sight of that in our ministrations abroad." A transcript is available HERE.

This week I found Arthur Oakman's Endowment series audio recordings at http://www.latterdaytruth.org. They were the lectures he gave to a group of Elders in 1966. I wish I had found them sooner. The power of Jesus Christ is with him as he speaks and the message blew me away. It's a message our church needed then and one we need even more today.

I'm sharing the links to each of the six lectures below. I hope and pray that these spread like wildfire through our many ranks. If you've listened to them before, you know how important they are. I encourage you to listen to them again. There are also transcripts available to download as PDF's on the page with each recording. Please help me share these lectures. Let's encourage our people to embrace the call and become what God has called us to be.

Answer the Call

The Summer Series ended with a Youth Service. Dozens of teens and young adults shared how God had worked in their lives this summer during the many church camps. The testimonies were wonderful and the spirit was strong.

Then came The Call, both through an inspired original song and through the inspired words of those leading the service, God once again begged us to Answer the Call.

He's been calling for months and the message only gets louder and stronger. Please, listen and share so that others can also answer the call.

A Call to Fast

  "Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning;

And rend your heart, and not your garments, and repent, and turn unto the Lord your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and he will turn away the evil from you.
Therefore repent, and who knoweth but he will return and leave a blessing behind him; that you may offer a meat offering, and a drink offering, unto the Lord your God?
Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly" - Joel 2:12-15

If you have read my testimony, then you know that September is fast approaching. Although I don't know what exactly will occur on September 19th, the Day of Atonement is nearly upon us.

I invite you to join us in sanctifying a fast to the Lord. To humble ourselves at His feet, repentant and expectant to receive.

Please share this call so that as many in the church as possible can join us in Fasting for a revival in our personal covenants with Jesus Christ. Fasting that the church will Wake Up and be prepared.

God Has Amplified His Call

Sunday night, July 29, 2018, God amplified His call to His people. If the message to Wake Up hasn't been clear enough before, then please listen to the inspired message given through Elder Howard Parker at the Summer Series.

There's no more time to dawdle or procrastinate. Jesus wants this church on fire, looking up to Him in all we do. Faith in part is commitment. It's time to put that commitment into action. For myself and for all my brother and sisters, I pray we'll take this message to heart and hear God's call to WAKE UP.

The Hourglass is Almost Empty by Francis Harper

I read this testimony in the March 2018 Waldo Ave. Restoration Branch newsletter. I was behind in reading these. A few days ago an email was sent out that had the current newsletter link as well as the previous months for those that may have missed them. I decided to check out March right away because the call I recognized in the sermons had also begun in March. Right away this testimony by Francis Harper in Iowa caught my attention. This is a reprint from the May/June 2016 issue of the Restoration Voice. It may be a reprint, but the TIMING of the reprint can't be ignored.

Another confirmation that the Lord is calling his people to Wake UP. His coming is so soon; it's incredibly important that we recognize the message He's sending and be prepared.

God's Continued Call through Elder Eric Odida

Bro. Eric Odida gave a powerful sermon last night! Zion is just a step away, what are we doing as individuals to turn our hearts and lives over to Jesus?

The call is strong, God continues to say, Wake UP and turn to Me.

God is issuing a message to his people and I'm excited!

God is issuing a message to his people and I'm excited!  I've recently had the personal experience where God is calling me ...
